Casa La Cappella

The house dates from around the year 1700 and it is the upper part of a palazzo of a noble family who has lived there for hundreds of years. The house is situated in the centro storico (historical centre) at the edge of the village and is built on the top of a hill in the highest part of Vibonati. From the house you have a magnificent view of the green hills covered with olive trees, and the sea.

In summer there is a gentle breeze from the sea in the morning, and in the evening the wind comes from the mountains. Combined with the thick old walls the house is therefore always cool. In two rooms there is air-conditioning to further enhance the comfort.

Right across the street there is an old chapel called ‘La Cappella Maria della Grazia’. Next to this chapel there is a small square where you can park your car.

The inside of the house has been completely renovated in 2009. We have tried to preserve the original details as much as possible, such as the high walls with the wooden ceilings and the antique wooden doors. It also has a spacious roof terrace (32m2) which offers a panoramic view on The Gulf of Policastro, the village and the surrounding hills. From the large windows and 2 opening balcony doors you can also enjoy a panoramic view.

The house has a surface of 145 mq and consists of:

A first floor with:

On the second floor you find the spacious roof terrace (32m2) and another large room with two single beds.

From the entrance on the street side, large stairs lead to the living area. Most rooms are situated on one floor and there is an extra room next to the roofterrace. Both of the bathrooms have been tiled in the local style of the Amalfi coast and have a toilet, a bidet, a sink and a comfortable shower. The kitchen is very complete with a refrigerator, an oven and a washing machine.
